Traditional Ethiopian Clothing
Shifta7 was founded in order to continue my mother's legacy of introducing and sharing the Ethiopian culture, traditional clothing, accessories, and arts and crafts to the western world as well as serving the Ethiopian Diaspora community in the US. Our products, outfits, and accessories are organic, colorful, and mostly handmade which beautifully merge the traditional with modern fashion sensibilities. Our outfits and accessories are made with traditionally inspired fabrics, colors, textures, designs, and patterns. The cuts of many of our chic outfits are as suitable for attending fully traditional Ethiopian events as they are for a fashionable night out. It is in this spirit that we proudly present our products that are made with love.
About Shifta7
Shifta7 – is named after my late mother, Simienesh Sirak, who was a proud Ethiopian entrepreneur with a colorful personality. Simienesh was affectionately known to her friends and peers as Shifta, a word that can loosely be translated as a rebel with a cause and a mission, a person who is free spirited, independent, and marches to the beat of her own drums. Simienesh was also a businesswoman who had a passion for all things Ethiopian and exported Ethiopian Arts and Crafts as a way of sharing our rich Ethiopian culture.
